Terms of service

The terms for using Nche.

Last updated 14 October 2026. These terms are being reviewed by a lawyer; if anything changes, the date above will change too.

The short version

Who we are, and what these terms cover

Nche (“we”, “us”) is based in Nigeria. These terms cover this website, the Nche app at app.nche.app and vets.nche.app, and the reports the app makes. By using any of them, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.

Nche devices are covered by a separate written agreement with each farm, and work with banks, insurers and partners is covered by agreements with them. Where one of those agreements says something different from these terms, the agreement applies.

Nche is in early access

The app is an early version, and until launch some results use example data. The app says so wherever that is the case; don’t act on those results. We may change, pause or stop any part of Nche, and we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We’ll give notice of big changes where we can.

Screening is not a diagnosis

A result from the app is a screening result: it tells you when something may be wrong and when to call your vet. It is not a diagnosis and not veterinary advice. Never treat your flock, give medicine or make decisions about birds based only on an app result.

If your birds are dying or very sick, call a vet now. Don’t wait for a result from the app. In Nigeria, suspected bird flu must be reported to the veterinary authorities.

Using the app

For vets

Your photos, recordings and records

What you send stays yours. You let us store and process it to give you results, make reports, and run and protect Nche. If you allow it, you also let us use it, together with what vets later find, to improve screening for every farmer. You can switch that off at any time in the app’s Settings. Once a photo or recording has helped improve a model, we can’t remove what the model learned from it, but we won’t use it again. Our privacy notice explains all of this in full.

Farm records, banks and insurers

A bank, insurer or programme sees a farm’s records only if the farmer agrees in writing. Nche records show what the devices measured; they are not a promise about a flock’s health or a farm’s results. Lending and insurance decisions are always made by the bank or insurer, not by Nche.

Offers

Offers such as free app access for the first 100 farms and free pilots for ten of them are limited. We choose pilot farms at our discretion, and joining a list doesn’t guarantee a place. We’ll tell you clearly what any offer includes before you agree to it.

What belongs to us

The Nche name, the website, the app, the devices’ designs and the screening models belong to us. These terms let you use them as described here, and nothing more.

Our responsibility to you

We build Nche carefully, but we can’t promise it will catch every problem in a flock, and we aren’t responsible for losses that come from relying on a screening result instead of a vet, or from things outside our control, such as power cuts, network outages or damage to a device. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses or lost profits.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law, including under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018, or limits our responsibility where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited.

Stopping

You can stop using Nche at any time, and ask us to delete your information as the privacy notice explains. We may limit or end someone’s access if they break these terms or misuse Nche, and we’ll tell them why unless the law or safety stops us.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change matters for how you use Nche, we’ll tell you before it applies. If you keep using Nche after that, the new terms apply.

Law and disagreements

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at hello@nche.app; most things can be put right quickly. If we can’t agree, the courts of Nigeria will decide.
