I’m a software engineer and a poultry farmer. Nche is the tool I wished I had on my own farm.

Why Nche

It started on my own farm.

I started keeping poultry in 2022. Like every farmer, I learned the hard way that flocks are rarely lost without warning. The heat builds through the afternoon, the ammonia climbs overnight, a few birds start to cough, and by the time anyone notices in the morning, the losses have begun.

Working with vets showed me the other side of the problem. A good vet can’t be on every farm every day, and by the time they’re called, they’re often looking at the damage rather than the cause. And when a farm needs a loan or insurance, there’s no reliable record of how it’s been run.

Nche brings those three together: a watchman in the house that never sleeps, a free app that gets the vet involved earlier, and records honest enough for a bank or an insurer to trust.

Background

Ten years of building software that has to work.

I’ve worked as a software engineer for about ten years, in fintech, food tech and cybersecurity, for companies in Nigeria, the United States and Saudi Arabia. Building systems where money and security are on the line is why Nche treats every record as something that has to stand up to scrutiny.

At Nche

From the circuit board to the AI.

  • The device: the electronics, the sealed enclosure and the firmware that reads the house.
  • The AI: the models that listen to the flock and screen droppings photos.
  • The app and the platform: what farmers, vets, banks and insurers use every day.
