Help Nche learn to listen to Nigerian poultry houses.
We’re paying 12 farms ₦5,000 each to record their houses with the Nche app for two weeks. Ten seconds a house, three times a day. About five minutes a time.
Your birds sound like Nigeria. That’s the point.
Nche’s next check listens to a house for coughing, sneezing and rattling breath. It learned from recordings of farms abroad, and when we tested it on Nigerian birds, it wasn’t good enough. So it isn’t out yet, and it won’t be until it passes our own test on Nigerian farms.
The fix isn’t a cleverer computer. It’s recordings from real Nigerian houses: your birds, your feeders, your fans, your generator, the harmattan in the air. Here’s the whole story.

Poultry farms in Nigeria, healthy or not.
- Farms with 200 to 2,000 birds, broilers or layers, in any state.
- Healthy flocks are just as welcome. Knowing what a normal house sounds like matters as much as hearing a sick one.
- Flocks with breathing trouble right now, with a vet looking at them, especially. You’re paid for your time, never for sick birds: please never say birds are sick when they aren’t.
- Any phone with a browser, Android or iPhone, and a few minutes three times a day.
Clients with coughing flocks? Tell us.
When a client’s birds have a breathing problem, you can help them take one of the places and confirm what’s wrong with the flock. We pay vets for their time on it.
Write to vets@nche.app, or apply below as a vet.
Before you apply.
What happens to my recordings?
Nche uses them to build and test its listening check. Before any recording is used, people’s voices are taken out. Your name and your farm’s name are never published, and your data is kept as Nigeria’s data protection law requires.
Do I switch off the fans or the generator?
No. Record the house as it normally is. Real farm sounds are exactly what Nche needs to learn.
What if I miss a recording?
That’s fine. Record at least 4 times in 5 to get the full ₦5,000. If you have to stop, we pay for the days you recorded.
Will the app tell me if my birds are sick?
Not from sound yet: the listening check is still in training, and the app says so. Photo checks of droppings work as usual. If your birds look unwell, call your vet.
How many places are there?
12 farms this month. If they’re full, we’ll keep your details for the next round.
Take one of the 12 places.
Tell us about your farm. We’ll message you on WhatsApp within two days with the guide and the short agreement.
